Everything about Death Valley is surreal. Or maybe it’s the heat that makes it feel that way. The most surprising thing about one of the hottest areas on earth is the amount of color in the mountains. These have an unmistakable blue-violet hue mixed in with the expected earthly siennas and browns. Beautiful.
